Thermal insulation
Mineral wool -based spray-applied product for passive fire protection, acoustic correction, and thermal insulation.
ISOFLAM is sprayed directly onto the surface to be protected to provide passive fire protection or acoustic correction.. Depending on the nature of the element to coat, either a bonding coat will be applied using our ISOFIX adherence primer or a wire mesh. ISOFLAM components also have excellent thermal insulation properties. ISOFLAM ’s adhesive qualities and flexibility mean that it can be used without risk of cracking or dilation on all straight or curved architectural forms. Its application in one go (no joins) gives a uniform rustic finish with no performance loss.
ISOFLAM can be used economically to achieve high level performances offering value for money. It is used to render buildings compliant with construction norms and rules.
DEFINITION :
- ISOFLAM is a spray on product designed for passive fire protection of concrete, metal or wood structures, plus acoustic correction (absorption).
- It is a traditional material composed essentially of purified, carded mineral wool (bio soluble and compliant with the requirements of directive 97/69 CE on exemption from classification), inorganic mineral binders supplemented by special additives and dust prevention agents.
- ISOFLAM is free from asbestos, crystallised silica and all other harmful or toxic products. Its ingredients comply with the provisions of REACH European chemical regulations.
PRESENTATION – STORAGE :
- After factory manufacture (ISO 9001, 2008 version certified establishment) ISOFLAM is a dry, ready to use product. It comes in the form of light, regular nodules, containing additives and sizing.
- ISOFLAM is packaged into red 25 kg bags (10-month conservation period).
- Bags are then loaded by automatic robotisation onto film-wrapped wooden pallets. These pallets (24 bags x 25kg = 600 kg) are identified by a barcode supplemented by dating (manufacturing date and time) to ensure perfect traceability.
- Pallets must be stored in a dry place and protected from the weather.
APPLICATION:
- Application is performed by approved or qualified contractors, in accordance with AFNOR norm P 15-202 (Code of practice 27-1), plus our Schedule of Conditions.
- Water projection onto prepared surfaces onto an undercoat of ISOFIX adhesive primer or a NERGALTO type wire mesh.
- Ambient and surface temperature must be superior + 5°C and inferior + 40°C during projection and drying (takes 8 to 15 days) in ventilated premises not subjected to vibrations.
- Application is performed via pneumatic projection using a special carding machine for fibrous mixes, adjusted to comply with ISOFLAM density and particle size;
- Our test certificates are completed in accordance with the new European norms (JO of 1st April 2004 for application on 1st April 2011).
- We offer a construction materials manufacturer ten-year professional civil liability guarantee (GAN – 6012 A)
APPEARANCE – FINISH – ADVANTAGES:
Aspect:
- Colour: oatmeal (off-white)
- Appearance: rustic and uniform (slightly granulated)

- - Fire resistance on multi surface compliant with French norm from 1/2hr to 4hrs if building permit before 01/04/2011 (CTICM Certificate n°04-A-064 of 16 June 2009)
- - Acoustic correction by absorption (CSTB certificate n°AC06-136 of 26 September 2006)
- - Thermal insulation compliant with RT2005, TH-U rules (λ = 0.050 W/m.K)
- - Choice of thickness depends on:
- On concrete structures: slab thickness, coating of steels, fire stop factor (REI)
- On metal structures: post and beam size, exposure on 3 or 4 sides and fire stop factor (REI)
- On wooden floors: fire stop factor.
- - No emanation of toxic or dangerous gases in the event of fire
- - Non toxic, rot-proof, vermin and rodent-proof
- - Behaviour in water: ISOFLAM is water absorbent, thanks to its open structure. It is highly permeable to steam.
- - Chemical inertia: a slightly base reaction on contact with a liquid phase (pH near 10 when cold). It does not provoke, or foster any corrosion due to its very low chloride content.
- - ISOFLAM is chemically inert vis-à-vis different steels.
- - Can be applied on all surfaces and absorbs dilations or irregularities without risk of cracking.
HEALT:
- The IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer), working for the WHO (World Health Organisation), has classified mineral wools as group 3, « unable to be classified in terms of its carcinogenic effects on man »
- ISOFLAM also complies with the requirements of directive 97/69 CE on exemption from classification as a « possible carcinogen »
MAIN USES:
- Fire protection of slabs, walls, posts, beams, reinforced or pre-stressed concrete floors, combination floors.
- Fire protection of steel structures
- Fire protection of wooden floors
- Acoustic correction
- Use in theatres, meeting rooms, cinemas, sports halls, gymnasiums, cabarets, industries, generator set facilities, shopping centres, sales outlets, public venues, residential buildings and offices, high rise buildings, technical facilities, industrial buildings.
