THERMAL INSULATION
FIRE PROTECTION
A spray-applied mineral wool-based product for thermal insulation and passive fire protection
ISOTHERM is a thermal insulation and passive fire protection material sprayed directly onto our ISOFIX adherence primer bonding coat.It is used on a wide range of concrete structures.

ISOTHERM’s adhesive and flexible properties mean that it can be used without risk of cracking or dilation on surfaces, even deformed or not flat.
The process enables a coating to be applied in one go without joins (no incorporated or ad hoc linear thermal breaks), also covering the sides and bases of vertical beams with a uniform rustic finish with no performance loss.
The technique is superior in thermal terms to other forms of mechanically fixed insulation such as insulation connected to a support floor using metal or plastic fixings which create thermal breaks.
ISOTHERM is the perfect economic solution to your thermal insulation problems thanks to its low thermal conductivity coefficient and its compliance with fire safety regulations on passive fire protection.
DEFINITION :
- - ISOTHERM is a spray on product used for the thermal insulation and passive fire protection of a wide range of concrete structures.
- - It is a traditional material composed essentially of purified, carded mineral wool (bio soluble and compliant with the requirements of directive 97/69 CE on exemption from classification), inorganic mineral binders supplemented by special additives and dust prevention agents.
- - ISOTHERM is free from asbestos, crystalline silica or all other harmful or toxic products. Its components comply with the provisions of REACH European chemical regulations.
PRESENTATION – STORAGE :
- - After factory manufacture (ISO 9001, 2008 version certified establishment) ISOTHERM is a dry, ready to use product. It comes in the form of light, regular nodules, containing additives and sizing.
- ISOTHERM is packaged into with 25 kg white bags with blue lettering (10-month conservation period)..
- - Bags are then loaded by automatic robotisation onto film-wrapped wooden pallets. Pallets (24 bags x 25kg = 600 kg) are identified by a barcode supplemented by dating (manufacturing date and time) to ensure perfect traceability.
- - Pallets must be stored in a dry place and protected from the weather.
APPLICATION :
- - Application is performed by approved or qualified contractors, in accordance with AFNOR norm P 15-202 (Code of practice 27-1), plus our Schedule of Conditions.
- - Water projection onto prepared surfaces onto an undercoat of ISOFIX adhesive primer.
- - Ambient and surface temperature must be > + 5°C and < + 40°C during spraying and drying (takes 8 to 15 days) in ventilated premises not subjected to vibrations.
- - Application is performed via pneumatic projection using a special carding machine for fibrous mixes, adjusted to comply with ISOTHERM density and particle size;
- - Our test certificates are completed in accordance with the new European norms (JO of 1st April 2004 for application on 1st April 2011).
- - We offer a construction materials manufacturer ten-year professional civil liability guarantee (GAN – 6012 A)
APPEARANCE – FINISH – ADVANTAGES :
Appearance:
- Colour: oatmeal (off-white)

- Appearance: rustic and uniform (slightly granulated)
Finish :
- rolled or compressed
- ISOTHERM’s surface can take an air spray gun-applied finish paint (acrylic or vinyl) on its surface
- other finishing options by impregnation (ISOFILM) or decorative paste render ISOCOAT)
Advantages :
- Thermal and fireproof insulation (REI on concrete supports from 60 to 240) in a one coat product
- light product with no excess load on structures
- Adapts easily to different surfaces
- absence of thermal and sound breaks
CHARACTERISTICS :
- Sprayed on application thicknesses from 45 to 200 mm
- Coverage from 140 to 160 kg per m3 depending on spraying, application or finishing mode
- Thermal insulation compliant with Th-U rules (RT 2005), lambda = 0.046 W per m.K

- - Fire retardancy compliant with Euro classes: A1 (fireproof) (LNE certificate n°H015984 – CEMATE/11 dated 29 March 2007)
- - Choice of thicknesses depends on Up coefficient required, slab type and thickness, coating around steels and fire stop degree (REI)
- - Fire resistance on concrete structures from 1 hr to 4 hrs (EFECTIS certificate n°.. ; of…)
- - Absence of asbestos (SFC certificate 03-03155) and crystallised silica (SFC 03-03150)
- - No emanations of toxic or dangerous gases in the event of fire
- - Non toxic, rot-proof, vermin or rodent-proof
- - Fungicidal inertia: no fungicidal growth, thanks to strong>ISOTHERM’sfungistatic property (CSTB certificate test 2011-024 of 08/03/2011)
- - Chemical inertia: slightly base reaction in contact with a liquid phase (PH near 10 when cold)
- - ISOTHERM is chemically inert vis-à-vis the different steels, it does not provoke or foster corrosion due to its very low chloride content (CSTB test of 16/12/2010 n° 10.10083)
- - Can be applied to all supports and absorbs irregularities or dilations without risk of cracking.
HEALTH :
- The IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer), working for the WHO (World Health Organisation), has classified mineral wools as group 3, « unable to be classified in terms of its carcinogenic effects on man »
- ISOTHERM also complies with the requirements of directive 97/69 CE on exemption from classification as a « possible carcinogen »
